Excellent post! Thanks for doing a review of the 80/10/10 diet, your insights are interesting. I am just about to embark on this diet in earnest, your review is a good testimonial! This diet hugely alkalises your body and blood, which is necessary for great health. Are you going to go back to SAD after this?! Laura :-)
Your welcome Laura. In regards to going back to SAD diet, I don't know yet. I'll let you know on Day 90. Let me know how the first 10 days of the diet went for you :)
iMy boyfriend and I are embarking on the 80-10-10 diet this coming Monday and we are totally psyched. The book is required reading for my Masters in Holistic Health and Nutrition, which is how I discovered it. Thanks SO much for your review! Are you still on it, and if so, how is it going?
Hi Robert! Congrats on your results on the 80-10-10 diet.
I just wanted to give you a heads up that, although many people initially do well on this diet (what's referred to as the "honeymoon phase," which can range from 3 months to a year), it is extremely common to run into problems with deficiencies and chronically low energy, amongst other issues.
You won't read about these problems on either the Vegsource or 30 Bananas a Day forums, which both practice censorship and whitewashing of any posts that reflect negatively on the diet or its promoters. Those forums present to readers only a simplified, carefully controlled picture of success that doesn't reflect the huge numbers of people who have abandoned the diet due to serious health concerns.
You can read about "the other side" of the 80-10-10 diet here:

Denise Minger (a former 80-10-10er) also provides a wonderful wealth of information on her blog, Raw Food SOS. You can read her personal story here:

You seem like a smart, conscientious guy, so I just wanted to wish you luck and give you some links to important information that can help you on your health journey.
